Crown of Indignity

This quilt was inspired by my love for Jesus, scripture and a song performed by Jeremy Camp called “This Man”.

Isaiah 53:5

(On front in Hebrew)

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
      He was bruised for our iniquities;
      The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
      And by His stripes we are healed.

Techniques and Materials: Hand dyed linen, scrim, commercial and hand dyed cottons. Hand letting on papyrus, shiva paint sticks to enhance entwined thorn and olive branch quilting in the border.
