This quilt was done as part of the QOTW challenge for 2009.

The challenge was titled:

Archeology – Digging Deeper

This quilt was inspired by my interest in ancient cave paintings in France and Australia.

I hand dyed, painted and stamped muslin and scrim for the main areas of this piece using Setacolor, Stewart Gill and Jacquard paints. I painted fossils on a commercial fabric for the background then embellished it with objects of interest.

This piece is machine quilted.
