Village of Dreams - Cabernet Morning I

This quilt was inspired by one of our local wineries, Leonesse Cellars. This is from a photograph that I took early one morning overlooking their Cabernet vines.

Using Rose Hughes' technique to construct the landscape I expanded the idea to include various yarns and embellishments including brads, modern and vintage beaded fringe. This was a fun exercise in the "design as you go" process that I am really enjoying. Quilts have a way of taking you in design directions that you had not originally planned. It is like exploring and discovering amazing things along the way.
