PB & J and Tuna Sandwiches
(22L x 17W)
My inspiration for this piece was three pictures given to me by my mother. My desire was to depict a memory I had of wonderful days together and a common thread between 3 generations, fishing. The title came from the sandwiches Dad always made for the trip.
Materials: Hand dyed scrim, vegetable netting, silk organza and rubber stamps, scanned photos printed on fabric, a hand drawn bass using Shiva paint sticks, fishing line from Grandpa’s fly rod along with his hand tied fishing fly and fly tying materials. The frame is a bamboo stick put together with a copper elbow wrapped with embroidery threads. The quilt is edged with couched threads and yarns. It is free motion quilted with wool batting.
