A New Pearadigm

Playing with a paper cutting technique, I mirror imaged a simple design into a more complex form. By making my green striped batik fabric two sided, I was able to rotate the stripes 90 degrees from each other creating a subtle shift in design. Metallic threads were then couched to enhance the edges.

A canvas was covered with marbled handmade paper and the quilt was hand stitched onto the surface.
