Piasa – Dragon Bird
Using a collage technique, I layered on a muslin background various papers, tissues, hand dyed scrim, yarns, ribbons, netting and tulle. Cutting out areas of the “fabric” that I liked, I layered them on an over-dyed background fabric. Yarns were then couched on the surface. Adding a purchased appliqué, beads and a glass button finished the quilt.
A canvas was covered with marbled handmade paper and the quilt was hand stitched onto the surface.
