I really admire Carol Marine’s daily paintings and style. This was my attempt to interpret her style in fabric and stitch.
Starting with a photograph that I took of fresh garden peppers, I used Photoshop to break down the basic shapes. Cotton hand dyed fabrics as well as batiks and silks were used to bring the feeling of paint mixed and blended. Using various threads, both cotton and polyester, I worked them to mimic paint strokes on the surface.
