I have always wanted to visit Italy’s wine country. Living in Temecula is the next best thing.
Using hand dyed and commercial fabrics I designed my personal view of a Tuscan landscape.
I see beautiful blue skies over deep green fields waiting for the harvest.
To accomplish this I used machine embroidery and quilting accents to mark the flow of the fields and trees. Beads add to the feel of flowers in the meadows.
The quilt is mounted on a hand painted canvas that flows out from the quilt in softer, muted colors.
April 2009 (18" square canvas with mounted 12" inch square quilt)
