From Edge 2 Edge - Who we are - What inspires us
As fiber artists David Charity and Trish Charity have participated in various local, regional and national exhibits. David and Trish's art quilts run from abstract to representational. They have work that has been displayed in several regional galleries, including Soft Expressions (Anaheim, Ca), the Gallery at the Merc (Temecula, Ca.), the gallery at Quilt Visions (Point Loma, San Diego, Ca.), The Framery and Fine Art Gallery (Whittier, Ca.), and Tesoro's, a local winery with a gift shop (Temecula, Ca.).

David and Trish Charity's fiber art pieces include many unusual materials. One of their current favorites are the fabrics from Ghana, Africa. David and Trish have been able to pick up some wonderful pieces from a vendor (Ananse Village) at the Long Beach Festival. This is the newest of the shows put on by the International Quilt Festival.

David and Trish Charity also incorporate silks, decorator fabrics, Stewart Gill paints, SetaColor paints and print their own fabrics. David Charity has also used Spoonflower (a print on demand business) to have a fabric printed in a larger size than can handled on a personal printer.

Ananse Village has updated their website. They have a wonderful array of other items for sale beyond their fabulous fabrics.

David and I are a husband and wife who quilt. We would love for you to get to know us through our fiber art designs. When we mention that we make quilts most people think of traditional designs. I will warn you up front, these are not our grandmother’s quilts.

From Edge 2 Edge Inspirations

The Charity's live in the beautiful area of Temecula in southern California. They are not too far from wine country and have an abundance of inspiration for their art. David and Trish work in a variety of medium and fibers to bring the art quilts to life.

David and Trish Charity are currently members of several great art quilt groups:
SAQA,
Quilt Visions,
Quilts on the Wall, and
Textures Fiber Arts a local group in So. Calif.

People who have purchased our quilts:

Trish donated a small quilt to the 2009 SAQA reverse auction named: Rita Experiences Her First Hot Flash. This is what Lisa Ellis, the winner of the auction says about the quilt:

"This is the second piece I purchased in round one of the SAQA auction. It's called Rita Experiences Her First Hot Flash. The artist is Patricia Charity. So you can probably guess why this piece was meaningful to me. Hint: I celebrated my 50th birthday recently. The thread work is stunning."
(Thank you Lisa, for the compliment)

Trish has had several pieces sold through a local winery:
Tesoro Winery. The pieces have had a wine theme and Trish has had the honor of meeting the purchasers. We would like to thank them for their support.
